Raul Montoya is the Chief Executive Officer and founder of MONTOYA WELDING LLC, a leading provider of industrial and energy infrastructure restoration.
As a business leader and innovator, he has closed one of the energy transition’s hardest gaps: delivering rapid, field-deployed repairs that safely and verifiably stabilize next-generation grid assets and extend their functional life at scale.
He trained within a nationally top-ranked social work school, most recently ranked No. 8 by U.S. News & World Report, known for producing practice leaders grounded in rigorous scholarship and real-world impact.
At UT Austin, Raul’s education centered on translating evidence into action. His training emphasized evidence-based practice, ethical decision-making, and systems thinking, with a strong research orientation shaped by a school that houses interdisciplinary research institutes and projects focused on scientifically rigorous social and behavioral research and program evaluation.
His comprehensive and interdisciplinary education cultivated an advanced expertise in tackling the social problems of today and conducting research to face the challenges of tomorrow.

As I step into the role of Chief Executive Officer, I do so with deep respect for the legacy established by my father, built over four decades of commitment, craftsmanship, and trust.
